Where to Sleep in Heathrow Airport?

Heathrow is swamped with people throughout the day as well as night. If you plan to spend a night at Heathrow before jumping onto your connecting flight, you must be prepared to handle this crowd. There are comfortable seats available in all terminals but sleeping in one of them is almost impossible, partially due to the noise and mainly due to cops who often wake you up to check for tickets and boarding pass. With people strolling down continuously with luggage, young children jumping around and duty free shops that are open 24/7, it is indeed a challenge to sleep in the common areas of the airport terminals.

Airport Lounges

One possible option within Heathrow to catch some quality sleep is the lounges. Access to these lounges is free for business class passengers and economy class passengers can gain access by purchasing a pass or through membership programs. These lounges are extremely comfortable and provide all facilities required to catch up on a good sleep. Apart from the facilities for sleeping, passengers can also use their charging docks and complimentary snacks and drinks to unwind before their long journey. Some of the lounges at Heathrow are No 1 Heathrow, Plaza Premium, SkyTeam Lounge and Servisair Lounge. Access to these lounges is most affordable when availed under the membership program.

Airport hotels

If you are looking for more comfortable options and if you are travelling with young children, hotels near Heathrow are most recommended. Sofitel and Hilton are directly linked to terminals 5 and 4 respectively via a covered walkaway.

Another popular interesting option at Heathrow is the cube styled rooms located inside terminal 4. This place is called Yotel and is located near the arrivals on the Mezzanine level. These rooms can be accessed throughout the day and offer per hour rates. Transit passengers spending the night at Yotel must have a valid access to the country.

If you do not mind taking a few steps away from Heathrow, there are plenty of options. The closest hotels to Heathrow are Renaissance, EasyHotel, Leonardo Hotel and Premier Inn.
